Beger Co., Ltd.<\/strong>A leader in eco-friendly color innovation has launched a prototype project that combines advanced safety features with environmental concepts by usinginterior paint that can reflect high heat and is inherently flame-retardant<\/strong>to create buildings that are both cooler and safer. This project is being piloted atMercy Early Childhood Center, Klongtoey<\/strong>and marks the first real application in Thailand.<\/p>\n

Social Innovation: From Food Waste to Flame-Retardant Paint<\/h2>\n

This project has a primary goal of reducing fire risks in vulnerable buildings, especially in areas with young children who have limited evacuation options in emergencies. The project’s highlight is the development of \u201cbio-based flame retardants<\/strong>\u201d extracted fromfood waste such as oyster shells<\/strong>and integrated into the <\/span>BegerCool All-Plus for Interior<\/span><\/strong><\/span>which is Beger’s premium interior paint.<\/p>\n

This type of paint hashigh heat-reflective properties<\/strong>that help reduce indoor temperatures, resulting in decreased energy use from air conditioning, and also hasinherent flame-retardant properties<\/strong>which have been tested according to UL94 V-0 standards, proving it can extinguish flames within 10 seconds without dripping flames, while also emitting low volatile organic compounds (Low VOC), making it safe for health.<\/p>\n
