From the important collaboration announced at the Mercy Center in Khlong Toei between Bayer Co., Ltd., the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), and Marriott International, supported by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Khlong Toei District Office, the intention to enhance the safety of the Khlong Toei community has been established as a long-term mission that is continuously and concretely implemented.
Over the past period, all three organizations have closely monitored the results and continued to expand operations according to the collaboration plan. Most recently, onFebruary 11, 2026they announced the success of the project at “Point 2” atthe Duang Prateep Foundation, Khlong Toei Community Childcare Centerafter the completion of the fire-retardant paint application and building repairs, reflecting a commitment to elevate safety standards in densely populated community areas. This project has implemented the innovation of “fire-retardant paint” within the classrooms to help slow the spread of flames, extend evacuation time, and reduce loss of life and property in case of emergencies. This marks another significant step in applying innovative construction materials to ensure safety for young children and educational personnel in urban communities.

In addition to building improvements, this collaboration also emphasizes enhancing the capacity of personnel by organizing training activities to educate teachers and staff on fire evacuation procedures and emergency preparedness, ensuring the safety of young children in all situations. At the same time, the collaboration between Bayer, NANOTEC, and Marriott International continues to drive theFood Waste Reductionproject alongside, reflecting an operational philosophy that considers sustainability in a holistic manner, including safety, environmental aspects, and the quality of life of community members.
In the future, all three organizations plan to expand their operations to other vulnerable areas in Khlong Toei to continuously elevate safety standards of buildings in urban communities and push for a model of collaboration between the private sector, research agencies, and the government to achieve tangible and sustainable long-term results.
